Has this happened to you? You write a brilliant blog post and wait for the people to come crowding onto your site, but nobody comes. Believe it or not, good content is not king (but is very important). There are a few things that are key to getting traffic to your blog. Here is an outstanding way to bring in a steady stream of traffic. Do this EVERY time you post:

1. Write your post

2. Copy and paste it onto forums of interest. This is also a good tip even if you are an established blogger.

3. Twitter it (hopefully, you all ready have a base of Twitter followers. If not, get it).

4. Email to your fellow blogging friends (so they can backlink to your post or mention your post). Don't have blogging friends? Get some-- because its easy to overlook a stranger....and friends do stuff for friends. Don't know how get blogging friends? Good luck! -Christine Next Level Blogs

There are sooooo many ways to get traffic. The sad thing is that most people do the same old things over and over. So here are two great tips:

If you are not all ready linking your blog posts to Twitter, you are missing out on traffic. You can automate this by signing on with pingvine. It's easy and a time saver (not to mention it generates more traffic).

On your blog, post links to other helpful blogs (and in exchange, request that the other blog will post YOUR link on their site). Just make sure it is not a competitor to you. Most times, people will agree because it benefits both of you.

These are only two ideas....I will be posting more soon (you can check my old posts for other ones too).

One of the clients that I help has a blog that centers around inspirational thoughts. He had a really popular reader base until he realized that his blog was going to downhill and he couldn't figure out why.

Here was his problem: he stopped centering his posts around his theme of inspirational thoughts. He started posting things about politics and business topics. Even though he was a great writer, he forgot why he had those readers in the first place. They were there to read about his inspirational thoughts and were not intersted in his other topics. Once you have your blog, stick to your theme, or you'll be shooting yourself if the foot! Best of luck to you all!
